I love big pieces of art that have lots of hidden little details. There’s almost an impressionism to them where you can see the whole piece if you step back, but a closer examination reveals a whole other level to the art. Most of the time, these kinds of drawings are reserved for posters or picture books. Cats Hidden in Paris<\/em> takes this experience and digitizes it for a fun, albeit short, point-and-click video game.<\/p>\n

The goal of Cats Hidden in Paris<\/em> is simple: find all the cats hidden throughout the line drawing of Paris. While it starts out fairly easy, the challenge comes at the end when you’ve scoured the entire scene multiple times and cannot seem to find that last handful of cats. Of course, this means it’s satisfying when you’re finding lots of cats in the beginning, but it’s a different kind of satisfying once you finally find that last cat that had been in plain sight the entire time. There’s a level of creativity with the shapes of these cats that seems to reinforce the idea that cats are liquid.<\/p>\n

While the entire game only takes about 15 minutes to complete, I wish there were at least a few more levels to try before doling out money for downloadable content. Granted, this game is free, so it’s mostly just a demo to advertise the fact that if you want more of this kind of content, you’ll actually have to pay for it. This could be trouble for parents who got this game for their kids and suddenly find a lot of mysterious charges to their credit card, but I could think of worse games for my young kids to play than this one.<\/p>\n

A simple and well-executed game of point-and-click finding, I give Cats Hidden in Paris<\/em> 4.0 stars out of 5.<\/p>\n
